Yesterday was a good brick work-wise, but I let myself down in the evening with eating when I had low energy and ate a bit of extra food.
For work, I completed the second day in a row where I did 6 straight hours of focus between 6.30am-12.30pm. I filled this in with some other smaller blocks and ended up with just over 9 productive hours of work.
It was again the ability to resist distraction by not checking my phone or having food, convincing myself I can act in spite of how I feel, and riding out all of the periods where I was having a difficult time and was tempted to go find distraction.
I also delivered the first 100 flyers which turned up today. Just for clarity, this is counted as exercise time, not work time. I am going to try do another 200 today perhaps and then maybe look at ordering more towards the end of the week.
Today is a bit of a tricky one because I’ve got the whole day but no work to do. It is the last ‘free’ day of the week, so I need to put in a big day shift to bump my average work hours up before a busy few days ahead. Ideally, I want to work the whole day without much distraction at all.
It is quite scary when you’ve got a full day with no work and have a couple of contractors relying on you for work. They trusted me to take a job to earn money, and now I’m unable to provide them with regular work.
If my inbox was flooded with leads then I could work on making my offer better, producing better content when learning from the work, and then getting referrals. Then I could allocate a lot more work to my team and keep them busy because I could rely on the leads coming in.
So, I’m in a position right now where I feel like I just need to get the momentum rolling, and once the momentum is rolling, then I can capitalise on it and work hard for Google reviews, referrals etc.
Yesterday I delivered 100 flyers in 45 minutes. If I order another 5,000 then I’ll have 5,900 flyers. If I aim to deliver 200 per day, then it will be 30 days to deliver all of these. The cost would be about $600 but I feel like it would pay itself off much faster than Google Ads.
This is something to think about and perhaps what I need to do to secure work over the next month. If I put out 6,000 flyers and get a 1% call rate, that could be 60 calls within the next month.
Then the key would be to do excellent work for the clients that come onboard – let’s say 30, and then at the end tell them that we service country wide and ask them to refer.
Here we go again!
