Yesterday was a great day fitness wise as I had a deficit of over 1,500 calories, and I had a pretty good day work wise.
I’ve woken up this morning sore and with a sore body after the workouts yesterday as it was weights in the morning and 90 minutes of walking up a mountain yesterday afternoon.
I am super hungry and could eat 5,000 calories today, but instead I’m going to outlast my mental discomfort. I have golf at 12pm but I would’ve already burned 2,500 calories by then through a morning workout, walk with friends, and maintenance.
So 12pm-8pm are going to be a real grind for me and I need to get through it with positive energy, and by not eating additional food.
12pm-2pm: settle into golf and focus on maintaining high energy. Make good conversation and focus on positive energy and positive actions
2pm-3.30pm: This will be the real grind I feel and I’ve just got to fight through this period with strong actions and positive discipline. Stay focused and stay on task
3.30pm-5pm: Final stretch at golf. I’ll have my protein bar at 3.30pm, and then just need to hang on until the end.
5pm-6.30pm: Another testing period and I’m going to try push out dinner until 6.30pm. So this hour and half needs to be doing something that will keep me busy, and then come home and settle in for dinner.
Once I’ve had dinner I should be okay for the night and I can then wind down before bed and I would’ve made it through another day without overeating. I know I will wake up sore and tired on Sunday morning, but that’s okay because I’ll deal with that in tomorrow’s journal. Getting through another tough day today without giving in will be a massive win.
I know that there will be times at golf when my body is sore and my mind fatigues, but all this does is presents a great opportunity to sit through some discomfort and just fight it. This is the hard work that I always say I want in my life, so now that I know it’s coming, I should get excited for the test.
I get to test my ability to be a good person despite feeling tired and sore, and just keep being a good person and a good human. Find ways to serve other people on the golf course whether it’s watching their shots, helping find balls, or making them feel good about themselves.
